Is there a platform I SHOULDN'T promote my book on?
Writers have lots of choices when it comes to promoting their books. The following question is from a writer concerned about what effect his Christian writing might have on his secular career prospects.
Q: I work in a secular industry and most of my connections on LinkedIn are secular. Should I post about my new Christian book? Would it cause trouble if I did?
A: If you are concerned about how your Christian book might negatively impact your career, have you considered using a pseudonym for future projects? Since no one can predict what blowback, if any, you might receive, rather than posting on LinkedIn from your professional profile, consider recruiting an army of Christian fans to post and promote your book to their connections.
It’s possible to maintain a professional, secular, business profile on LinkedIn while also connecting with and cultivating relationships with Christians on the platform, many of whom would be happy to help plug your book!
